Terrier Lifting Clamps
Terrier Lifting Clamps BV is the leading manufacturer of lifting clamps and lifting equipment today. Their lifting equipment product line covers the complete range of lifting situations. The most popular type of clamp they make is the vertical lifting clamp. Vertical lifting clamps are designed for vertical lifting, turning and transfer of loads up to 30 metric tonnes (66,000 pounds). Some models of vertical lifting clamps are fitted with an articulated hoisting eye that permits lifting and transfer of loads from any position, and are sometimes called universal lifting clamps. Every vertical and universal lifting clamp is equipped with a safety locking mechanism that prevents the clamp from becoming disengaged from the load.
Other models of Terrier clamps for vertical lifting include adjustable jaw clamps, stainless-steel-jaw lifting clamps, wide jaw clamps and deep jaw clamps, and non marring vertical clamps, so-called because they incorporate special pads instead of toothed jaws. These are designed to lift loads that must not be marked or scratched, such as stainless steel, aluminum, wood, and marble.
The second most popular type of lifting clamp is the horizontal lifting clamp. Terrier horizontal lifting clamps are also offered in a variety of configurations, including regular and thin-sheet clamps, adjustable jaws, spring-loaded jaws, non-marring jaws, specialized vertical beam lifting clamps / horizontal beam lifting clamps, and specially designed clamps for lifting concrete pipe. Load capacities range from 1000 to 33,000 pounds.
Another type of Terrier clamp is the screw clamp. Several models of the screw clamps are available that use a threaded shaft to open and close the jaws or to clamp onto the load directly.
Finally, Terrier offers special purpose clamps which lift drums (drum lifting clamps), rail sections (rail clamps), round shapes and extra wide loads that must not be marked.
